Sell My Company Business Brokers

Business Sales & Licensed Partners

How business buyer introductions, licensed real estate representation and specialist transaction work fit together.

The business sale starts with a scope review

We review the company location, owners, assets, likely buyer locations, proposed deal structure and compensation before marketing or introductions. Business-only asset sales can differ from property or equity transactions. This site describes available types of support; it does not promise that every activity is permitted in every state.

Business-sale support where permitted

For qualifying transactions, services may include sale preparation, anonymous business summaries, buyer identification and screening, information organization and process coordination. Calling an activity a referral, finder service or consulting engagement does not decide whether a license or registration is required.

Licensed commercial real estate partners

An appropriately licensed broker handles regulated property marketing, prospect procurement, lease negotiations, assignments and other property activities as required in the relevant jurisdiction. The role must be established before regulated activity occurs. We do not advertise ourselves as a licensed real estate brokerage.

Separate agreements and coordinated closings

Business assets and property can have separate professional engagements and legal documents. Counsel may coordinate an addendum, separate lease or property purchase agreement, including conditions linking closing. Separate paperwork does not override licensing or fee-sharing rules. The licensed partner is responsible for their regulated services.

Equity sales and securities

Shares, LLC interests and certain other transaction arrangements can trigger securities rules. No securities solicitation or introduction service is undertaken unless appropriately qualified counsel has confirmed the applicable registration or exemption requirements, permitted activities and compensation. Federal and state requirements are considered separately.

Markets requiring additional arrangements

California, Florida, Minnesota, South Dakota and Wisconsin are not presented here as markets for independent unlicensed business brokerage. Illinois has a separate business-broker registration regime. Arizona and Michigan require additional review rather than a blanket no-license statement. Other states can still regulate the transaction because of its property, securities, operating-license or compensation features.

Primary sources for the scope distinctions

The Texas State Securities Board distinguishes business asset sales from securities brokerage. Washington RCW 18.85.011 addresses business opportunities involving property. Illinois registration guidance and Nevada permit guidance illustrate state-specific regimes. These references support the distinctions, not an individual legal clearance. Rules and the facts of a deal need review when an engagement is proposed.

What to tell us before we begin

Provide the business’s state, industry, asset scope, property or lease involvement and whether ownership interests are contemplated. We identify the needed professionals and agree on the permitted role before outreach. General website information is not legal, tax, investment or appraisal advice.
